Flowing “Army Food City”

What’s the most important thing when troops march? Some say advanced weapons and equipment, and some say high-quality soldiers, all of which makes sense. However, if eating is the most important, it may cause uproar. But let’s think about it, if the soldiers are fighting with hungry stomachs, they have no strength at all, and they can’t even get their guns, then what battles are they still fighting? Let me talk about the cooking support of the army today.

Cook in a pot
Presumably everyone has seen it in the film and television dramas. In the past, during the march of the army, the troops had dedicated cooks, carrying pots and ingredients. Every time the army goes, the first thing the cooks do is cook in a pot to ensure that the soldiers are not hungry and have enough food to fight.

However, there are many disadvantages to doing so. For example, the army must invest a large number of personnel to carry various cooking utensils, which is greatly consumed in the artillery fire. Another example is the time-consuming problem: when the army is out of service, it is only possible to cook, but sometimes the food is not ready, and the army has to be promoted, and the food is not enough. Also, if you march on a rainy day, the cooking class can only cook with a rain cloth, and it is not convenient and quick to light a fire. It’s even worse if the troop encounters an emergency. These disadvantages and shortcomings have seriously affected the army’s cooking support and even affected its combat effectiveness. Therefore, all countries have made great efforts in diet security research.

The first mobile cooking car
With the continuous evolution of the form of war, the army’s requirements for cooking support have become higher and higher, and it has become a trend to make cooking support move, live, and get up quickly.

One day in 1853, the German Mr. Ramfort, who had fought and served as a cook, met with his comrades. The comrade scolded: “The cooker is not allowed to get on the carriage, only by our own back, exhausted …” A word from the comrades made Lam Ford’s eyes bright: Install the cooker on the carriage, avoiding the need to carry a cooker. Do n’t say tired, ca n’t you cook anytime? Along this line of thought, Lamb Ford built the world’s first mobile cooking cart, which put cooking utensils on a carriage and fixed it. Army cooking support has changed. Later, with the development of science and technology and the renewal of combat concepts, the idea of ”cars as kitchens” gradually became the dominant of the field cooking support, and field cooking vehicles were invented one after another. In 1930, the United States manufactured the first domestic cooking car, and in 193 produced a semi-trailer cooking car. It began to equip troops one after another, and the army’s field cooking support entered a new era.

The field cooker was first developed in Germany and later overtaken by the United States. However, relying on its strong automotive industry technology, Germany became the leading country for field cooking cars in the 1990s. The field cooking cars produced in Germany not only have large space, sufficient horsepower, stable chassis, but also have better maneuverability, and have begun to continuously export technology to various countries. Field cooking cars have seen unprecedented development.

At present, each country ’s field cooking vehicles have their own characteristics, and they have optimized the functional design for the actual and operational environment tasks of the troops, and have become indispensable weapons and equipment in the troops of various countries. For example, the German TFK250 has both refrigerator and freezer equipment, cooking equipment, and high-pressure equipment. 3 cooks can make a hearty hot meal for 100 people in 2 hours.

Our army is currently equipped with a 97-type field cooking vehicle, which is a trailer that not only has various functions such as frying, frying, steaming, frying, boiling, and brazing, but also has a water purification system, oil fume purification system, and frozen storage Waiting for the system, 3 cooks can serve 150 people in one hour. In addition, this vehicle has higher mobility and off-road capabilities, and has been equipped to all units of the army, known as our army’s “Military Food City”.
